Around 1.7 million buses are registered in India, out of which around 1,70,000 are public buses carrying around 70 million people per day.
Drivers operating these buses are usually overworked and stressed, long working hours and exposure to sunlight causes harm to their eyes, putting their and passengers' lives at risk. SHARP NGO with the support of RPG Foundation has extensively worked on eye care and its precautionary measures for the bus drivers across 7 states of India.
