Webinar on Re-opening Schools Safely : Prioritizing Violence Prevention
30 Apr 2022
This webinar aimed to educate and aware people on Violence Prevention in schools, How can we prevent violence in schools, Programs and Strategies As education systems around the world are moving to reopen schools, it is more important than ever to integrate measures to prevent and respond to violence against children in and through schools, introducing interventions and services where they were not in place before, and strengthening and expanding those that already exist. Reopening schools presents an opportunity to prioritise and emphasize a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of violence. Schools can also be ideal places for activities aimed at preventing violence. They can involve many young people at one time, influencing them early in life. Skilled teachers can deliver violence prevention programmes and act as significant role models outside of family or community life. Schools can reach parents, improving parenting practices that may be harmful to children’s health and education.
Participants joining through Zoom were encouraged to share their thoughts and discuss their problems also for the benefit of others.
